A WIP shot of the ARIA character I'm currently working on - Athena Glory. Don't know when this one will be finished, maybe it'll never be "finished". I think I'll keep tweaking and updating this one over time as I learn new drawing techniques.
Just like the Akari drawing, this one's done freehand too using a gridded reference picture. Since the ref picture was quite low-rez and it was impossible to get any facial details from it I had to improvise her face - first attempt ever at drawing a face from scratch Not sure it looks 100% like Athena though
Don't look too closely . There are some flaws that need to be fixed but it's comming along quite nicely I think.
Hey, thanks! Nah, I'm not good enough yet to teach anyone. It still takes me ages to do something like this.
I guess my only advice is to work at a much higer rez than the rez of the final picture. For example, my work copy is 4 times as big as this posted one. That way any shaky or uneven lines will look much smoother on the final picture. A pen tablet helps alot too .

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

Indeed, too little Athena art out there and LOTS of Akari and others.
(About 1/3 of the pic is still missing and all the coloring remains. Not sure when it'll be done.)
